The Bacterial Lithosphere Theory (jocularly referred to as the B.L.T.) was originally proposed in 1969 by the eminent physicist Thomas Gold. It has since undergone revision by radical biologists, and comes in three levels:
- Weak BLT - Hydrocarbons exist inside the Earth's crust and mantle, captured from CHNOPS elements at the time of the planet's formation.
- Strong BLT - These hydrocarbons are the source of life on earth. The first organisms evolved in oil, not water. Further, microbial life still exists in this subterranean ocean of petroleum.
- Final BLT - These microorganisms exist as a planetary "mass mind" and subtly alter life of the surface. Their emergence into the atmosphere during the Krakatoa explosion allegedly explains the origin of meta-human abilities.
The Weak BLT has been verified by the existence of an extra-terrestrial civilization inside the Moons Of Jupiter?.
The Strong BLT was experimentally verified in 1981 by the Tartarus Project?. The catastrophic conclusion precluded gathering evidence on the Final BLT.
The Final BLT remains conjectural. A dissident group of scientists studying the alleged Azrael Effect contend that the minds of these infants are not "magically" transmuted into ethereal vibrations in the E-M field, but rather downloaded and preserved in the planet-mind.
