His actual identity not publicly known, Flashback is one of a very few Deep Empaths whose primary Meta Human? power is to use the entities associated with the Azrael Effect to get senses of things that have happened previously. The thought is that each of the "Child" entities of the effect have within them some sort of ancestor memory, and that the cross-referencing of this information on a massive level causes Flashback to be able to assemble visions of events that have happened in the past. Apparently only Flashback has this power at a level that makes it very practical to use.

He also uses the Azrael Effect as a warning system, and sensitive entities warn him of impending danger to his person. To some small extent, he can make accurate guesses as to a person's personality based on a flashback sense of their history.

Flashback has never belonged to any organization, but it's suspected that Elena Hernandez may know his identity and that he may have some connection with Q.U.E.T.Z.A.L.?.
