Claudia Schnittger, a San Jose journalist with a background in computer science who engages in adventurous espionage and reportage against corporate malfeasance. She has socialist sensibilities, and tries to perform her missions through stealth and non-violence. Many of Muckraker's escapades involve undermining the socio-economic status quo by exposing the truth. Unlike traditional superheroes who bust purse-snatchers, Muckraker fights super-corporations and the powers of the establishment.

Schnittger was trained in martial arts by the Monks Of Shambhala? and was a fellow student of the villainous geneticist Splicer X.

Among her enemies are the Konforma Corporation, O-Bei Zaibatsu, and Fragmenta the Multiple Solipsist.
