On Feb 2nd, 2008, the character of Thorann (the only one in the guild who had access to the vault at the time) was logged on, and then took out all of the gold in the bank, and some of the items. The character then changed guild master to Moireau, and subsequently left the guild (or possibly passed the guildmaster title to Moireau automatically due to the resignation).

A bit later the character logged back on, and the player, finding what had happened, said that he had not done these things, and must have been hacked.

The character was then allowed to re-enter the guild, but cannot be allowed to have access to the vault any longer, in case the account is still unsecure. If you're not sure who you are dealing with when talking to the character Thorann, ask him for his pass phrase, and check with other guild-members to see if it matches. The phrase will not be listed here for security purposes.

The losses to the guild, while lamentable, are hardly insurmountable, and we have taken steps to improve our vault policies.
