This is a book published in February 2004 for a role-playing convention called "Nodal Point" in various Scandinavian languages: Knutpunkt (Swedish), Knudepunkt (Danish), Knutepunkt (Norwegian), and Solmukohta (Finnish). "Beyond Role and Play" was printed for for the 2004 convention in Helsinki, Finland -- the successor to the previous year's book, "As Larp Grows Up". The printed book is digest-sized (8" x 6") and 304 pages, perfect-bound, with a photo of a sunrise over some unusual columns on the cover. After the initial print run sold out, the contents were put online in PDF format.

It includes 29 articles on varying aspects of role-playing theory, with a focus on Scandanavian LARP for examples but also bringing other theory and Anglo-American contributions.
