The time it takes to physically and mentally resolve a given mechanic once the parameters have been established. i.e. the time it takes to roll and read the dice, calculate the result, mark on the character sheet, and so forth.

This is a term used on The Forge, originating from Ron Edwards' essay "System Does Matter". There he distinguishes Search Time, Handling Time. For total time taken by system, one should also add Decision Time.
