People have been asking me things like "how much health do I need for Kara?" and "will resilience from Pv P gear help me at all?" and things like that. I don't always know the answer, but I'm always willing to go look, so here's what I came up with. Most of this info is from a post I found on Ten Ton Hammer -- I didn't write that stuff, but I agree with most of the numbers they put up. Over time, playing through Karazhan, a raid leader will often be asked , "Can I get an invite?". To which the answer is usually "Are you geared for it?". There are three likely answers.
Obviously, you need to be careful with the first person, as almost no one will be geared to handle Karazhan the day they are keyed. There ARE exceptions, but in general they won't be. Just as obvious, you likely want the third-answer person as long as they didn't just ride the wake of a better geared team. The second answer, and that follow-up question, is the one most people get stuck at. What is the right mix to come into Karazhan with (stat wise) for each of the classes? Most of us know what felt right with **our** class, but few people know all classes. That's what this chart is meant to do, provide a baseline stat guide for entry into Karazhan. Note: these are BASELINES. If you're +hit is a little low, but your +crit is higher, that balances. The same may be said to be true for any of the baseline stats. You have more than the minimum health, but are low on +crit? Sounds good: at least you know you're likely to stay standing longer and do more damage! All the stats below are base, unbuffed stats. This means without food buffs, self buffs, zone buffs, mana or wizard oil, flasks, etc. Everyone attending will use as many of those buff items as possible in addition to meeting the minimum requirements. As with anything, there is no guarantee. You could take players that have much higher stats, but no ability to play their character in a group, and fail. Conversely, you could take several folks with lower stats that play their characters flawlessly and make the raid succeed. Anyway, these are guidelines -- on my first run in Kara, I did NOT have these numbers, but it was okay, because the rest of the team more than made up for it. Again, the above stats are a minimum for Karazhan, not recommended stats. +1200 heal would be better than +1000, obviously. As would more of anything else. This is a starting point that you quickly try to excel past, and is really only for the bosses up to (not including) the Curator. To get past Curator on any sort of regular basis, the 'party average' must be well over these stats, as the Curator is a gear check fight to see if you are ready for the second portion of the instance. |
