Honestly, the only reason I bothered mentioning that other post was because I needed some kind of structure to a post about ME2 -- there's just too much to say, and a rebuttal worked to help me remember stuff to mention.

Sorry, Dave: I didn't mean to make it seem that I blamed you at all for the link -- it was really informative and, honestly? You know how it's sometimes nice to see a good movie with lowered expectations? It was like that.

I just wanted to make it clear it was full of spoilers before anyone went and read it and then wanted to choke me :)

Apologies if I passed on too much spoileriffic stuff -- my impression from what you'd written and what Shamus said about the "first ten minutes" may have misled me. At least, I didn't think you'd be significantly spoiled.

I find your variance with the OP regarding the game and the observations made to be interesting (I've found him spot on, if flip, in his reviewed of CO and LotRO gameplay). At least I didn't post it under the banner, "see what I say out of ignorance about a game based on some other guy's review" (you did that for me :-) ).

Regardless, it sounds like both of you vastly enjoyed at least the majority of the game. If I were doing more game stuff than the excess I feel I'm already doing, I'd be tempted to get ME1/ME2, just because of the positive buzz about them.

I actually just stumbled across this while I was getting ready for my campaign of Mouse Guard. Me and my Wife started a solo game and turned out pretty good. Nothing Complex due to the fact she's on her own. This has definitely given me some ideas and encouragement to continue on.
Nice work of Session 1.

Well, I don't know if there are things I'd necessarily tweak just yet. We'll see.

And yeah, we'll see about the complexity over time...

Tim, one more question: did you find, after play, that there were things you'd tweak about your character?

Kate came away from the session going "Resolve is a big deal -- that needs to be higher for Miranda -- it just makes sense that she's not easy to intimidate."

I expect that every exposure to one of Diaspora's mini-games will expose some stuff stuff that "needs to be higher".
